Lumex occupies more than 6000 sq. m of production, laboratory, and office areas located at two premises in St. Petersburg, Russia. Lumex has been operating at the marketplace of analytical equipment for arbitration and technological chemical analysis since 1992. Up to now, more than 5000 Lumex instruments have been supplied to various customers worldwide, the export share of the overseas sales as of 2001 being about 10% of the total sales volume. The sales of the Lumex luminescence analyzers amount to 47% of the relevant market segment in Russia. Along with the continuous upgrading of our products and substantial extending their range,this resulted from our active advancement in marketing and expanding the dealer and service center network, which presently has been established in many major cities throughout Russia, from Kaliningrad in the west to Vladivostok in the east, and in capital cities in Ukraine, Byelorussia, and Kazakhstan. Since 1998, we have extended our trade connections to the USA, Canada, EU countries, Poland, Czech Republic, China, Korea, India, and some other countries. Overseas distributors >> All the analytical instruments and most of the proprietary analytical techniques developed and produced by Lumex are certified in compliance with the State Standards and are entered into State Registers of the Russian Federation and some FSU countries. The standards and regulations based on Lumex developments set forth the techniques for analyses of more than 90 chemical compounds in gaseous, liquid and solid samples. One third of all the techniques approved for the use in the environment protection system of the Russian Federation have been developed at Lumex. Lumex had been certificated in 1999 for the compliance with the international standard ISO 9001/94 by "AFAQ-ACERT International" (France) and "ACERT Bureau" (Russia) which was accredited at DAR/TGA (Germany). Company have obtained, in 2004, the certificate of compliance of the quality management system with the new version of international standard ISO 9001:2000. Having obtained, in 2007, the certificate of compliance of the quality management system with the international standard ISO 9001:2000, Lumex again has proved its capability to provide high-quality solutions of customer's problems. The certificate is issued by "ACERT Bureau" and is recognized by all the IAF and MLA country-members. The scope of the certified quality management system has been made more exact and covers design, development, production, delivery, sales, servicing of measuring and analytical equipment for separation analysis, luminescent analysis, infrared spectroscopy, mercury analysis, atomic absorption spectrometry, microwave sample digestion and also supporting application methods. Moreover, the users are supplied with various certified analytical application manuals, which are also being developed and drawn by our research staff. We believe that any analytical laboratory will find an efficient low-cost solution of its problems in the wide range of our customized and well supported analytical equipment. The R&D activities being carried out by Lumex research staff involve not only the above well established areas, but also extend to some promising advanced projects, such as the development and design of a time-of-flight mass spectrometer for elemental analysis using pulsed gas-discharge ionization of dry solution residues in a thin-walled metal hollow cathode, whose prototype has already been built and will soon be put on the market, and working on the orders of some highly reputed overseas companies for the development and design of new techniques and equipment for gas chromatography and IR food analysis. Since recently, Lumex has undertaken research in hydraulics, having prototypes of advanced hydraulic motors and pumps of proprietary novel design, which show great promise and may be a breakthrough in this technology area.
